Strong Start of the Florida Winter Tour for Orsolon Racing

The Orsolon Racing Team was all set to start Rok week in the Florida Winter Tour which took place in Homestead, Florida. The team from Miami was composed of Colombian Diego Contecha and Brazilian Pedro Aizza in the Micro Rok Class. Chevy Rodriguez was representing the team in the Mini Rok class. Nick Brueckner from Texas was in Jrs and Brazilian Andre Duek returned to motorsports after 10 years, competed in the Masters class.

The whole team had a really strong pace which showed on Saturday's qualifying. Nick managed to conquer pole position in the tough Jr class. Diego Contecha qualified 2nd and Pedro Aizza 5th in the Micro class. Chevy could not drive a single lap due to a broken axle. Andre had a good pace and qualified 7th.

Chevy Rodriguez, coming from last place drove an aggressive race gaining many spots and had a strong finish ending up in 10th in the pre-final and 11th in the main race. Nick Brueckner starting from pole got involved in some incidents loosing a couple of spots but finished 6th in the pre-final and 7th in the final. Andre Duek in the Master class had a solid day and ended up 5th in the main race.
Diego Contecha drove an amazing race and won the pre-final with Pedro Aizza in 5th.

In the main event Diego did it again and this time with Pedro in 3rd. Unfortunately after the race was over Diego got a 10 second penalty due to a start infraction. Pedro Aizza from Brazil finished in the podium right in his first race with Orsolon Racing.

On Sunday, although Nick was only one tenth from the leader, he ended up 8th in the tie Jr qualifying. Andre qualified 7th. In the Micro class, again really strong, Orsolon Racing drivers Pedro and Diego qualified 4th and 2nd. Chevy did not have a good session and ended up getting 20th.

Andre had a strong racing day finishing 5th in the main race. Nick managed to come from 8th to finish 3rd with an amazing pace in the main race. Chevy had a good recuperation race and end up 14th. Diego won the pre-final with an nice drive again but got another 10 second penalty due to a start infraction and ended up in 9th. Pedro had a solid drive with 4th in the pre-final. Pedro manage to finish 3rd and Diego 5th in the main race.

It was a really good beginning of the Florida Winter Tour. Our next event is back in Homestead for the Rotax week of the Florida Winter Tour on January 21-25.
