Fun Weekend at Florida Winter Tour in Orlando With Pole Position in Tag Sr.

March 17, 2014

The Orsolon Racing team was composed by three drivers in the first week of the Florida Winter Tour in Orlando, FL. American Dan Roeper in Sr class and Colombians Chevy Rodriguez in the Cadet class and Sebastian Sierra in the Jr class.

All drivers had a strong week of testing. For Saturday's race Dan Roeper qualified second and had solid heat races always on top 3, but unfortunately he got involved in a crash which totaled the chassis in the main event. On Sunday, with a brand new chassis, Dan was the fastest in the warm up and qualified on pole. The young American driver got stuck in a mess when he was running 3rd in the final race and ended up finishing 9th, which places him 2nd in points.

Colombian driver Chevy Rodriguez qualified 7th for Saturday in the tough Mini Rok class with 34 karts in the field. In the heat races Chevy was always within the top 10, but unfortunately did not finish the main event due to a crash. On Sunday, Chevy did not have a good qualifying session and came from the back in the heat races finishing on top 10 on both, but again, on the final event he got involved in a crash, which was a shame since he had a lot of speed.

Jr driver Sebastian Sierra, first time joined the team managed to qualify 10th for Saturday's race finishing 2nd in one of the heats. Unfortunately Sebastian did not finish the final race due to a crash. On Sunday's race, Sebastian qualified 11th and had solid heats managing to finish 6th in the final race.

It was a strong weekend and solid preparation for the competitive Rotax week coming up next week, when the Orsolon Racing Team will bring 5 drivers.
